As of March 1, 2025, blue box recyclable materials will no longer be accepted at the Portland Transfer Station. Residential properties will still receive curbside collection of blue box recyclable materials. Businesses who have disposed of their recyclable materials at the transfer station will need to find alternative means of recycling.
Transfer Station Guidelines
- Payment Options: Cash, Debit, MasterCard, Visa (no personal cheques)
- Bagged waste with bag tags will be accepted at the PTS. Bag tags must be placed on garbage bags prior to going to Transfer Station.
- All bagged waste must be in CLEAR BAGS.
- Building demolition material is not accepted.
- Small amounts of construction material are accepted
- Tipping fees apply for large items
The Township reserves the right to limit the quantity of material brought into the Transfer Station at any one time.
