A civic address helps emergency responders, service providers, and visitors quickly locate your property. Civic number signs should be clearly visible from both directions of travel and in all weather conditions.
Applying for a Civic Address
To obtain a civic address, submit a Civic Address Application Form and the required fee to the Township.
- Processing may take up to six weeks.
- The assigned civic number includes installation of the civic sign.
- Fees for new civic addresses and replacement signs or posts are available in the Resources section.
Road Renaming & Civic Number Reassignment
The Township is currently working with the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville to develop a better addressing system that provides consistency of numbering, not only across the Township of Rideau Lakes, but the County as well. This will ensure that Municipal, County, and Provincial Emergency Services are able to properly find and locate properties in our Township. Those affected will be contacted via regular mail about the proposed changes.
Replacement Civic Number Signs & Posts
Replacement signs and posts can be purchased from the Township Office.
