Septic Re-Inspection Program
The Township's Septic Reinspection Program helps protect water quality by ensuring private sewage systems are properly maintained.
From 2007–2015, inspections were completed on a lake-by-lake schedule in partnership with the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority and the Planning Advisory Committee, covering all major lakes in the Township.
The program has since expanded:
- 2015: 100 mandatory and 50 voluntary inspections introduced.
- 2019: Increased to 300 mandatory inspections annually, conducted by the Mississippi Rideau Septic System Office.
- 2023: Expanded to 400 mandatory inspections each year.
Inspection areas are selected annually by Council and include lakes and other designated areas throughout the Township.
Reports from previous years are available by request through the Manager of Development Services.
