Founded by Elder Abel Stevens, this church was constructed for the Baptist communities of Philipsville and Delta but would eventually only serve the Philipsville group after Delta built their own Baptist church.

It is a symmetrical building with pointed gothic windows. There is a red wooden door centered on the front façade with a pointed transom above. It has three main panes of glass with delicate sloping details. This same pattern is featured in the top section of the windows, which are divided 6/6 (12/12 in total). Keystone voussoirs are featured about these windows. The brick section at the back has windows that are 2/2 with decorative brick voussoirs above. The wooden porch portion has large screen windows.
